The Chinese Pavilion at Haga Park
The Chinese Pavilion was presented to Queen Lovisa Ulrika as a surprise gift on her birthday in 1753 by her husband, King Adolf Fredrik. The building is beautiful from all angles, and it is open for visitors every year from April to October. It can be seen with or without a guide.
The dining room,Confidencen, is in a separate building on top of the kitchen. In the kitchen there is a café today, serving coffee and Swedish waffles in a beautiful atmosphere, characteristic of the time. The table in the dining room can be hoisted up into position, after being laid by the servants one floor below.
There are several pavilions, also in the Chinese style. The buildings were restored in 1989-1996, and today they can be seen in their original condition. To get here one can go by car, bicycle or by public transport. There are also regular summertime boat services from Stadshuskajen (the City Hall Quay) to Drottningholm.
