Simrishamn,
in the middle of beautiful Österlen, was originally a small harbour
town by the medieval city Thumatorp. Later it became an essential harbour
for fishermen, and continuously the fish industry grew. Nowadays, the harbour
is filled with tourist and their boats every summer.

Simrishamn
is popular among those who enjoy trolling. Here we definitely find one of
Sweden's best fishing waters and in the harbour for small boats you find
launching ramps, showers, toilets, parking and any other amenities you might
wish for. The location on the eastside of Scania means that Simrishamn might
experience quite heavy storms, but the summers brings sweet breezes as well
as the boat people. |

The popular harbour for small boats attracts so many people from near and
far that it almost transforms the city during the summerseason. The medieval
quarters around the harbour have a small town charm that is an ideal setting
for the cosy fish restaurants.
