Malmö is Sweden´s third
largest city with a metropolitan population of about 660,000. It has more
parks, gardens and restaurants per capita than any other city in Sweden. Malmö is easily reached by train from Copenhagen International Airport.
A highlight during the year is the Malmö Festival, held in August, which draws close to 1.5 million visitors and offers over 900 hours of free entertainment. Traditionally, the world’s largest crayfish party is held at Stortorget on the inaugural evening and a tremendous fireworks display ends the Festival week.
Water channels run through the parks where you can take boats for a tour around the city. You can even rent a pedal boat and enjoy Malmö at your own pace. Another popular sightseeing boat in the summertime is "Flotten" (the raft), which also offers musical entertainment.
Copenhagen is only a short train ride away from Malmö.
Copenhagen is a city built on a human scale, and it's shoe leather rather
than taxi or subway that pays the way. On a stroll down Strøget and
its surrounding streets the picture can change from large exclusive stores
to curious speciality shops.
