In
Lysekil, you are welcomed by forests, mountains, open landscapes
and a rich archipelago. You can fill your sparetime with nature-
and culture experiences, bathing-, outdoor and boat life, recreation,
events, entertainment and fishing.
Gamlestan (Oldcity) is the original city of Lysekil that has
been built out. This part of the city has been preserved as charming
as it was a hundred years ago.
The Lysekil Church was built in the year of 1901 in bohus granite
and in the windows we can see beautiful window paintings. For
the little ones there are Lysekil's Playground with seesaws, mini
railroad, motorcross, etc.
Stångehuvud is a very beautiful national park west of Lysekil,
a popular place for tanning and bathing. From here you can follow
the famous granite belt that stretches along the bohus coast and
explore some of the approximately different plants that grows
around there.
Another kind of natural experiences Nordens Ark (The Arc of the
North) gives you. There species under threat of extinction is
given a haven in a beautiful environment. Havets Hus (The House
of the Sea) is, as Nordens Ark, a place for animals, but here
are those who live in the water, a sea aquarium.
Of course, a city so near the archipelago offers boat rides out
to the different islands as for example Kornöarna, Gullholmen
and Käringön.
