In
Norrviken he fulfilled his dreams, and in 1920 he invited the
public to see his masterpiece for the first time. What we see
at Norrviken Gardens today, is nearly exactly in the same condition
as back then. A remarkable lifetime achievement that attracts
visitors from all over the world every year.
There are a multitude of gardens in different styles; Japanese,
English, Italian, baroque, renaissance
and eastern style as well as herb- and water-gardens. There is
also a glasswork and an artgallery.
Villa Abelin - which was the home of Abelin´s family - houses
a shop and a café where one can enjoy a delicious garden buffet
or a cup of coffee. Rudolf Abelin passed away in 1961, but today
the gardens are run by Norrvikens Trädgårdar Ltd together with
a foundation, to make sure that everything is maintained and developed
in the true spirit of Rudolf Abelin.
